When you ship dangerous goods, items must be sent in good quality packaging that complies with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) . The packaging must be able to withstand the temperatures and other conditions that occur during normal air transport.
Empty packaging that previously contained dangerous goods must be treated according to the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) unless it has been cleaned properly. If the empty packaging hasn’t been cleaned, it must be marked accordingly.
You must complete a Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD) before you can ship dangerous goods. This must be completed in English and include a 24-hour emergency contact telephone number. The declaration form must not be signed by the cargo agent, freight forwarder or the consolidator, and all amendments must be signed by the signatory on the Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD). In the case of consolidations, each Airway Bill must have a separate Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD).
